fall is here, which means cosy sweaters, pumpkin spiced everything and best of all, autumnal nails – yaay!
september is when all the nail polish brands wow us with their new collections, and the autumn/winter options from Essie and OPI are giving. us. life. this week.
in this post we’re going through the classic fall colours and giving you a head-up on the hottest shades of each for this season.
grey
hold the phone. OPI have read our minds and come out with an entire range inspired by Scandal (AKA our fave show ever). our favourite grey of the season (or maybe ever) is this striking deep shade with the faintest hint of green inspired by the bad-ass boss lady, Olivia Pope. there’s something so sophisticated about this dark dark grey. makes you want to put on a tailored pantsuit and get involved with some political intrigue while cavorting with the president, right? or is that just us?
shade: OPI “Liv” in the Gray
brown
it’s the most classic of the fall colours: this season’s brown mani is a deep, warm tone that suits every skin tone. #winning

orange
we are OBSESSED with the gorgeous rusty orange “playing koi” that’s inspired by Essie’s global colour designer Rebecca Minkoff’s time in Tokyo. it’s a much brighter orange than we’re used to seeing in fall, which makes it a great pop of colour in an otherwise neutral outfit. how cool does it look below with a soft pink? <3
shades: Essie Playing Koi + Essie Go Go Geisha
plum
a deep purpley plum is a winter essential. we’re loving this rich new shade from OPI.
shade: OPI Kerry Blossom
bonus: red and gold
pairing a deep burgendy red with a sparkley gold is a perennial fall favourite, but essie have managed to spice it up with a neat geometric design and matte top coat. fyi: at THE TEN SPOT you can always choose a dual tone mani for the same cost as one colour. we’re just nice like that.
shades: Essie Bahama Mama + Essie Penny Talk
