this role is responsible for managing the social spaces for THE TEN SPOT® brand and coordinating marketing tasks with the marketing manager.

must be located in toronto and able to access bars in the area and the office located in the west end of toronto.

duties for this role include:

  • execute a results-driven social media strategy.
  • develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms
  • creation and editing of written, video, and photo content + content planning
  • management of creative assets + social media library
  • attend bar events when possible and produce live social media content.
  • maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
  • strong collaboration with marketing team
  • monitor social media channels for industry trends
  • engage with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments
  • review analytics and create reports on key metrics
  • assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy

new bar opening support:

  • new bar opening strategy + competitive social listening
  • gmb page support when needed

existing bar brand level support:

  • strategic and creative brainstorming for all promotional and seasonal campaigns
  • developing tools to drive sales in bar via owned channels
  • copywriting support when needed
  • management of social collateral + folders
  • design and development of digital ad, social media content and other marketing materials
  • individual design request execution for local bars
  • marketing ideation and support as needed in local markets
  • administrative execution of required marketing tactics

the ideal candidate:

  • has a passion for social media + proficiency with major social media platforms (ig, fb, tiktok, pinterest) and social media management tools (later scheduling  platform)
  • proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and basic html an asset
  • excellent social listening skills
  • ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
  • strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • top-notch oral and verbal communication skills
  • impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

requirements: 

  • bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
  • 1-3 years experience with b2c social media marketing or content development
  • direct experience using social media management tools (later)
  • must have basic working knowledge of google suite (word, excel, powerpoint/slides)
  • in-depth knowledge of canva
  • personality and behavioural characteristics that provide for an even-handed approach to problem resolution and the ability to handle rejection
  • excellent phone and email communication skills
  • a digital portfolio is required. examples of digital marketing, newsletters, social content are a plus.
  • shopify, e-commerce, wordpress, and simple video editing are also a plus.
